About Dr Ali

Our pain clinic is led by Dr. Wisam Ali, a Consultant in Neuroanaesthesia at Kings College Hospital, and an independent Consultant in Pain Medicine at London Bridge Hospital.

Dr. Ali qualified in 1987. He was granted the Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 1999.

As a research fellow at St. George's Hospital, he looked into the benefits of regional analgesia in reducing the stress response to pain and also investigated the useful role of Ketorolac in the management of neuropathic and complex regional pain syndrome. He worked on many audit projects aimed at improving the pain services provided to patients in order to maximise the role of pain clinics.

Dr. Ali had intensive fellowship training in interventional pain medicine at Whipps Cross University Hospital in 2003. He was appointed as a Consultant in Neuroanaesthesia at Kings College Hospital in London in 2003 to the present date and an Honorary Consultant in Pain Medicine at Whipps Cross University Hospital between 2004 and 2011, where he was responsible for the education of specialist registrars during their fellowship training.

Dr. Ali was granted "Foundation Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists" in 2008. He was also awarded the Fellowship of Interventional Pain Practice, FIPP, by the World Institute of Pain ( http://www.worldinstituteofpain.org/site/home.php).

He is a member of The British Medical Association and the World Institute of Pain (WIP). He is also a Fellow of The Royal College of Anaesthetists and on the specialist register of the General Medical Council.

Dr. Ali is a Fluent Arabic and English speaker.
